My First Blog Post

Welcome to the new Loosethread website!

Grab a cuppa, sit down, relax, and enjoy having a look around!

Whenever I attend events, (which is not very much anymore, sadly due to Covid) I’m often told by customers that I have so much more available on my stall than on my website. With events no longer taking place, and everything going online, I thought I should get online with a website- my very own little virtual place to show much more of what I do, and offer a better service to my customers that can no longer find me at their favourite face to face events.

Everything is designed and handmade by me in my studio. I work on a 4 week cycle of making, in small batches. As new items are made I will adjust the stock levels on the website and introduce new designs filling the shop section with unique textile pieces from artwork to accessories. The thing I love the most about what I do is making one-off items, totally unique. In this way I can personalise everything to your specific requests. So please feel free to inject a little of your personality into things by contacting me with adjustments.

I also have a new section for latest news where I will be posting updates about new additions to the site and any events that I may be attending, or workshops that I might be running.

This blog is a way to, not only share my work but also tips and knowledge. I don’t know about you, but I can lose hours browsing through online tutorials and craft blogs. I will be sharing my favourites and my own personal sewing tips along also my struggles and failed attempts and bad decisions because let’s be honest: delving into a new and unfamiliar craft isn’t always a walk in the park (you only need to see my recent attempt at pottery!).

After visiting, I hope you take away some inspiration and motivation to tackle something new. I’m looking forward to ‘working’ with you all!

The new Loosethread site really is brand spanking new and will be evolving over the coming months, so please bear with me.

However, if you can’t see what you are looking for don’t hesitate to get in touch and I’ll be happy to help, you can drop me a line at, hello@loosethreaduk.co.uk
